During the ESCAN conference, we will try to ensure sustainable practices. The number of attendees is expected to be high, and we know to what extent such large events can impact our environment. Please read the following points to make sure that together, we can reduce our impact:

• Every location can be reached by foot or public transport. The city is easily accessible, especially from the international train station in Brussels, which is only 28 minutes away by train! The campus is just 25 minutes from the train station on foot, but if you prefer, you can take the tram or buses, which only take 6-8 minutes. The city center is also a short distance from the campus. Ghent is a delightful city to walk in and discover its beautiful architecture 🙂
• All food will be veggie, with vegan options.
• The program will only be provided online. No printed version will be given during the conference.
• Belgium has one of the most efficient and comprehensive waste management and recycling systems in the world. The system is largely built around the use of color-coded bags and containers, each designated for specific types of waste.
• We ask participants to bring their own reusable water bottle
